Spiritual Direction

Spiritual direction is an interpersonal relationship between you and your director, who helps you discern what God is doing and saying.

It is a voluntary, flexible commitment, free of hierarchy and full of humility, where your director walks and listens with you, the sole objective being for you to grow in your discernment of what the Spirit is doing and revealing in your life.

At Canyon Pathways, we believe everyone can benefit from a spiritual direction relationship. No matter our age, our role, our status or condition, a director can help guide us into a deeper experience of the Father’s wisdom, purposes, and most importantly, his affection for us.

The commitment is to 45-minute weekly sessions with your director for a two-month period, which constitutes Phase One. During this time, conversational exploration, listening exercises, and several assessment tools will aid discovery and revelation.

This will be summarized for you in a “Field Report”—a concise compendium of discoveries we make about you, your person and nature, and what the Spirit is speaking into and over you in this season of the journey.

From there, Phase Two will include two months of bi-weekly sessions exploring more deeply your formative relationships and experiences, leading to Phase Three’s specific focus on what your Creator and Redeemer may be inviting you to in this season.

If you’re interested in walking shoulder-to-spiritual-shoulder with another son helping you listen for God’s voice in this season, contact us and, after an initial chat and agreement that the conditions are right, we’ll meet you at the trailhead!
